Its going to be a BIG first quarter for AMMA GYM!
The year started off with one of the top BJJ coaches in the world heading down to Team AMMA for a world class seminar - Robert Drysdale was an awesome seminar and a totally amazing guy, all that attended had a great time and learnt some sweet new techniques and concepts.
The end of January was the first series of TEAM AMMA Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminars. Adam Metcalf taught a series of seminars at a few schools and they were a HUGE success. I (Adam Metcalf) would like to thank Nathan Frost, Steve Grehan, Phil Ward and Nic Calder for coming along and helping with the seminars.
We are looking forward to the next series in a few months.
Sunday February 7th:
Sunday the 7th of February will see John Will (Australia's head Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach) head to AMMA GYM to run another fantastic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar. The seminar will start at 9.00 a.m. (be here ready to go at 8.45 a.m.) and run thru till close to 11.00 a.m. The cost is a low $66.00 and is a must event. Book in @ reception asap so that you don't miss out.
Saturday February 20th:
Melben (The TRUE State Champion) will be smashing the crap out of some poor imitation champion on February the 20th. Melben is fighting for the WMC State Title (which he already holds) against a paper champion. Good luck Melben, your the true champion and we wish you the best of luck!
Saturday February 27th:
Hayden Sta Maria will be fighting for a IMF Muay Thai State Title on Feb 27th, Hayden has been training hard and is looking to put on a great show as per his last fight. Paul Nguyen will also be competing on the same event, Paul fought one of the toughest fights he has been in on the last show and looked like a true champion. Best of luck to both of these guys.
We also have fighting on the Road to Supremacy Muay Thai show Sasha, Sheena, Scott, Argie and Jan Jan - we are waiting on the confirmation of opponents for these guys and girls.
Sunday March 7th:
We welcome back the Shooto Class 'C' MMA event! Once again Team AMMA has a solid crew of guys looking to jump into this event. The guys have been training hard and we are looking to beat our 5 wins from 6 fighters. More info on this event shortly.
Sunday March 14th:
No Gi Grappling competition, this is the first grappling competition for 2010. The date is still to be confirmed but this looks to be the date. More information once we have more details.
